In April 2011, the college’s Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) was established. The cell’s goal is to create a system for consciously, consistently, and catalytically improving the institution’s entire performance at all levels with the participation of all stakeholders.
With an “A” rating and a 3.25 CGPA, NAAC gave the college accreditation in 2011. The college received accreditation from NAAC in 2021 with a “B” grade 2.49 CGPA
The NAAC encourages all accredited schools to create an Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) as a post-accreditation quality maintenance activity. Through a sense of inclusion and engagement among an institution’s constituents, IQAC internalizes and institutionalizes quality enhancement. IQAC directs the institution’s efforts for academic success. The primary goal of the IQAC is the Total Quality Management of the institution.
In pursuance of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bengaluru Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) is constituted in the college as a quality sustenance measure. Since quality enhancement is a continuous process, the IQAC will become a part of the institution’s system and work towards the realization of the goals of quality enhancement and sustenance. The prime task of the IQAC is to develop a system for conscious, consistent, and catalytic improvement in the overall performance of institutions. For this, during the post-accreditation period, it needs to channel its efforts and measures toward promoting holistic academic excellence including the peer committee recommendations.
The IQAC’s activity is the initial stage in internalizing and institutionalizing quality improvement programs. Its success hinges on everyone in the institution feeling like they belong and are actively involved. It won’t be another hierarchical structure or a way for the institution to keep track of records. It will function as an institution’s facilitative and participatory volunteer system, unit, or organ. It could become a tool for bringing about quality improvement by developing planned interventionist tactics by IQAC to eliminate flaws and improve quality, similar to “Quality Circles” in industries.
Establishing and putting into practice quality standards for all of the institution’s many academic and administrative duties. It is feasible to establish and preserve a culture of quality with deliberate, dependable, and transparent efforts through a combination of internal and external quality evaluation, promotion, and sustenance actions.
Setups for gathering feedback on institution-related quality criteria from stakeholders like students, parents, and alumni. Documentation of the several quality-enhancing programs offered by the college.
To channel and systematize the efforts and measures towards academic excellence and to develop ethics in the students.
To encourage departments to establish a student learning center environment to use ICT tools for the teaching and learning process and to inculcate a value-based education system.
To develop an institutional database& documentation of various activities leading to quality improvement.
To promote teachers to upgrade their qualifications encourage them to attend faculty development programs &other curriculum enrichment programs.
To develop anambiance on the campus so that it enables the students to have free interaction with the academics& their classmates in the matter of academic affairs.
To create a quality system for deliberate, consistent, and catalytic programmed action to boost HEIs’ performance in academics and management.
To encourage actions that will improve institutional performance by internalizing quality culture and institutionalizing best practices.
To organize and systematically direct activities and actions toward academic success and the fostering of students’ ethical development.
To encourage departments to set up student learning centers where ICT tools can be used in the teaching and learning process as well as to implement a value-based educational system.
To create a database for the institution and to record the many actions that increase quality.
Encourage teachers to attend faculty development programs and other curriculum enrichment programs in order to promote their professional growth.
To create an environment on campus that allows students to freely interact with faculty members and their fellow students about academic matters.
