Promotion of High-Quality Research and Education

Any nation’s development depends heavily on the encouragement of research. In any higher educational institution, knowledge production is just as vital as knowledge transfer. This could only be accomplished by providing the researchers with a support structure that would allow them to concentrate on their primary research tasks, as well as by assisting them in obtaining the necessary cash, facilities, and time to carry out their research. Therefore, there is a current need to promote research. The College launches research projects using the following tactics:

The institute supports academic research, and they are encouraged to share their findings in conferences, seminars, workshops, and symposiums both nationally and internationally.

To publish high-quality research articles in journals that are both UGC-listed and peer-reviewed.

To plan seminars, conferences, and workshops on topics with local, regional, national, and international significance.

To encourage the professors to work on their Ph.D.s, do additional research, and submit major/minor research projects to the UGC, ICSSR, DST, and CST.

To publish scholarly, edited works of the highest caliber.

Encourage instructors as sources of research advice in order to develop a large pool of research researchers.

To encourage the lecturers to oversee the doctoral students as they work on their dissertations.

To develop partnerships and research collaborations with other organizations, businesses, and academic institutions.

To give teachers and researchers incentives and seed money for their research projects.

The Practice

For the purpose of encouraging a research culture among the faculty, staff, and students on campus, the institution has a Research Advisory Committee and an Academic Research Coordinator. Faculty members are encouraged to do so. Faculty members are encouraged to submit applications for research grants to various funding organizations. It offers faculty members incentives and start-up funding for their research projects. It has created an ethics code for research. The college has established linkages and MoUs with Institutes / Industries for research and training etc.

Eco-friendly campus

The following objectives are laid by the college:

  • To endorse understanding of environmental issues among students, staff, and society.
  • To attain the quality of life among all the stakeholders.
  • To achieve healthier sustainability of the campus.
  • The campus is the abode of rare, medicinal / herbal plants.

  • Seminars and Lectures are organized on various environmental issues.
  • The main objective of the practice is to have a clean and green environment and to develop concern, regarding environmental issues and challenges.

The Practice

The college frequently hosts conferences, seminars, and lectures by subject experts on environmental concerns. The worldwide impact of local environmental change is a concern that is hidden behind the screen. Rallies and posters are another way that cities and communities communicate environmental awareness. The signs for a plastic-free campus are visible everywhere. With notice boards stating it is an infraction punishable by fines, the college also promotes lowering noise pollution both within and outside the campus. On campus, smoking is not permitted at all. The college has prohibited rubbish / waste burning on its property.

Vermicomposting units have been developed by the Department of Zoology for use on campus to handle solid waste and as a chemical-free alternative in our garden.

To conserve bio-degradable fuel and maintain a pollution-free environment, eco-friendly electrical vehicles and bicycles are pushed (and an appreciation certificate is given to them).

Trees are periodically planted to bring greenery to the campus. In addition, trees are thought of as the planet’s lungs. Harvesting rainwater is another practice. Gardening also makes use of wastewater. For the efficient pollination of a flowering plant, hive boxes are positioned.

Other Best Practices

To save electricity, LED bulbs are used. It is insured that fans and electric bulbs are switched off when they are not in use. Solar Street Lights are installed at the roadside on the campus.

Problems encountered and resources required:

  • A long term assurance and efforts are required from all stakeholders.
